E-commerce & Operations Coordinator

We are looking for a flexible freelancer to take ownership of the day-to-day operational running of our e-commerce footwear brand based in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Starting immediately, with an initial term running until 9 October 2026
and the potential to extend thereafter. Applications close Sunday 13 September 2026.

Core Responsibilities

Order fulfilment: processing, picking, packing, gift wrapping and courier coordination

Customer experience & communications: email, WhatsApp, phone, exchanges and returns, in-person fitting appointments

Stock operations: quality control, stock control, packaging and branding

E-commerce administration: Shopify, BobGo

General business support: stepping in to run day-to-day operations when owner is unavailable. Dealings with manufacturers or suppliers.

Secondary Responsibilities

Social media support: content/video creation and posting on Facebook and Instagram

Retail/market operations: attending and managing physical markets

Marketplaces: Potential involvement

We’re looking for:

2-4 years relevant experience in e-commerce/retail and be able to demonstrate your ability to successfully fulfil this role.

Computer literate: Shopify, BobGo, Microsoft Office, WhatsApp, Dropbox, Google Docs, technical troubleshooting, printer use

Languages: English and Afrikaans

Marketplaces: Knowledge of set up and managing a Take A Lot or other market place accounts would be a bonus

Duration:

  • Available to start immediately and commit 8am-12pm, Monday to Friday until 9 October 2026
  • 8am-5pm from 30 September – 7 October 2026
  • Flexibility to work full days when owner is out of office/on holiday and during winter months.

Must have own laptop and be willing to use it for this role.

Qualities: Proactive, efficient, confident, trustworthy, logical, practical, willing to learn, attention to detail, work independently, strong written and verbal communication skills

Police clearance is required
