This nomination was for successfully pivoting our handcrafted sheepskin slipper business into the e-commerce sector and growing our business despite the pandemic."Before COVID, we were running Sheepskin Slippers SA manually and fielding about 300 touch points per day. When COVID hit, the demand for comfortable home working footwear was huge and therefore had to innovate to achieve success. Moving to e-commerce and automated systems has transformed the business. We now answer 0-2 queries manually per day and sales have increased considerably.” noted Hazel Hoole, Founder of Sheepskin Slippers SA

During the pandemic, some businesses flourished and others survived while their competitors floundered by discovering entirely new markets and creating new, imaginative ways of doing business.
